BENTLEY V BUMPER CHASSIS.

We have just completed 50 hours running on the front end of the above chassis. Several new pieces are included in the specification of the front suspension, which have not been previously tested and we report on these below.

Upper triangle lever - tin type SCD.997.
Failed after 2 minutes running.
This has been modified by By/AW. and will be tested in the next run.

Upper triangle lever. Lightened forging FB4333/4
No failure.


Dampers. Alum. Casings.
O.S. failed after 1 1/2 hrs.
N.S. No failure.
This is receiving design alteration.

'Oscillit' Yoke rubber bush - supplied by Wilmot-Breedon.
Failed after 4 1/2 hours.
We are writing to Wilmot Breedon re this.

Rear Engine Mtg. X member FB.4150
Failed after 10 1/2 hours.
Broke away round N.S. bolt.
This is receiving design alteration.

Rear Engine Mtg. Rubber. FB.4229.
Failed after 15 3/4 hrs. due to bad vulcanizing.
This is receiving attention, but Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym.{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} is satisfied with 15 hrs. running as the test is so severe on engine mountings and this particular piece has proved satisfactory on Wraith production.
