(9.5.33.) -5- Worlo/R.29.3.33. MINUTE 8. INDEPENDENT SPRINGING. LATEST POSITION AT 29.3.33. Hes/MJ.24.3.33. states further scheme has been received from W.W. which enables a certain amount of this work to be put in hand in the D.O. E.5/HF.{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}27.3.33. states that Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} has 4 or 5 more drawings under this section awaiting R's approval, and these will be sent along as soon as possible. In fact, it has been arranged to have advance blueprints from these schemes. At present only independent springing for the front end of the chassis has been considered, and this has advanced to the point where the final details are now being rounded off. So far as H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} is aware, R.{Sir Henry Royce} does not think much of the benefits of independent springing apart from the advantages it confers at the front end in connection with the steering, and he is not proposing to go any further with it, i.e., in applying independent springing to the rear end of the chassis. The SpectreCodename for Phantom III is being arranged with this system at the front end. MINUTE 9. RADIATORS. Radiators - further samples. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/MJ.24.3.33. states that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has not had an opportunity of issuing anything. Taken up with E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} MINUTE 10. ENGINE MOUNTING. Experiments with floating power. E.5/HF.{H. W. Frost - Coachwork Inspector}27.3.33. states that this job is now making progress on the board, but had to be dropped for a short time owing to Densport. | ||
