GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} (K). BY/Mtn.1/G.10.11.38. BENTLEY - THROTTLE STICKING. Thanks for your memo re the above, but there are one or two points we should like further information on as soon as possible:- (a). You refer to Benzoline - as we have never heard of this spirit being sold commercially, is it sold under this name or do you refer to National Benzol Mixture, as we know there is a distinct difference between the two. (b). In regard to Discol and Coaline, do we understand these two are mixed together or is the trouble encountered when used separately ? We are particularly interested in this at the present time, as Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} has recently raised the question of the fuels recommended in the instruction book, pointing out we should include any No.1 quality fuel, in addition to Discol and Ethyl. You will no doubt remember this point was raised by PK. at a Service Conference, at which you were present, and it was agreed we should recommend any No. 1 fuel, also Discol and Ethyl, and a leaflet is about to be prepared in accordance with this for future books. Your memo has not been shewn to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} as yet, but Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} has suggested we get this further information. Please return your memo with your reply, as we have not copied it yet, but we thought you would understand the position better if we returned your letter. BY/Mtn. | ||
