Please receive herewith E.CD.674 Modification to Tail Pipe Suspension - Bentley 50. It was intended that the Bentley 111 Tail Pipe Suspension should be used also on the Bentley 50 car, but when the body was placed on the Bentley 50 chassis it was found that the heel board of the rear seats fouled the tail pipe suspension. To overcome the foul we have shown a new support bracket, and this calls for the saddle welded on the tail pipe to be moved rearwards a little. The existing bracket which is welded to the chassis frame will have to be cut off. We have shown the new bracket bolted to the chassis cross for convenience on the first car, this could be welded on for future chassis if desired. Will Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} please note this change in connection with the coachwork. Will you please instruct these alterations to be made to the first Bentley 50 chassis and also future chassis fitted with this type of Exhaust System. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
