GC. 15-1-40. REPORT ON B.5. PARTS. CENTRE PILLARS. Both centre pillars are 1/8" short on the bottom of the pillar. Flanges that hold centre pillar to rocker are too deep. Check these with drawing. REAR PILLARS. Tongues on top of pillars are 3/8" too long. Lug on bottom of pillar is to be set in 1/16" as shown on drawing. Tapped holes in back plate do not tally with holes in pillar. FRONT PILLARS. Both of these pillars appears to be correct, but it would be advisable to fit out side panels before being positive about this. CANT RAILS. Both Cant Rails are 3/16" flat from centre pillar to front pillar. Both Cant Rails are 1/4" short on front end, the front end must be cut square to the centre line of body and not at 90 to outside of cant rail. Delete hank rivets at rear end where rear pillar enters. ROCKERS. The main fault with both rockers is, that they are twisted very badly. We are despatching to you a pair of jigs, which should overcome this, and any other faults that might occur. WHEELARCHES. The centre mounting bracket is low, rear mount bracket too far in towards centre of car, a high spot in the panel at this point appears to be the trouble. The spur which you have sent in will be returned to you in due course already cut in, we think it will be wise to prove this with the doors assembled before returning it. REAR FLOOR ASSEMBLY. Rear floor fits our jigs perfectly, there is one modification which we would like you to carry out, where the tray runs parallel to the wheel arch, the rear reinforcing strip on the wheel arch fouls the tray, box the tray round this strip. FIRST AND SECOND CROSS MEMBERS. Both these cross members are O.K. FRONT FLOOR ASSEMBLY. Front Floor assembly. O.K. | ||
