COPY AIR MINISTRY London W.C.2 August 1930 887498/28/R.D.E.3.a Type Approval of S.F.12-Magneto on Rolls-Royce F XIV MS ENGINE Gentlemen, I am directed to refer to my letter of the 11th July, granting provisional type approval for the Watford A.F.12 and S.F. 12-2 magnetos. A satisfactory report has now been received on the type test of two S.F.12-2 magnetos when fitted to a Rolls Royce F XIV MS engine, which satisfactorily completed a 100-hour type test in accordance with the conditions laid down in A.P.840. Airworthiness approval is, therefore, granted for the Watford S.F.12-2 magnetos when fitted to Rolls Royce F XIV MS engines, in accordance with Air Navigation Orders and Directions.
