A/13.11.11 73rd Meeting Re Truffault Shock Absorbers. Nov. 13th. 11 // x762 Mr. Platford reported by letter that to get good springing it is essential to have really flexible springs, and at the same time it is impossible to run with flexible springs without shock absorbers. He stated that our present standard setting of shock absorbers is insufficient and should be set about three times stronger. The ball end joints of these absorbers are a serious trouble and are continually getting slack. He suggested that the design of this joint be considered with the idea of making this job stronger and increasing wearing surfaces. The Committee suggested that Mr. Platford should try two or three times the pressure and turn on experimental cars for a time and then report. x762 | ||
