4442 S/W. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} CWB9/GM/17-12-26. CRANE SILENCER. Further to our conversation of Wednesday on the subject of the Crane Silencer, the following is an extract from a letter received from Mr. Crane a few days ago. "The drawings I forwarded to you of a muffler and exhaust pipe combination was one which we have found to be a reasonably successful compromise between silent operation and loss of power due to excessive back pressure. You will notice that a double exhaust pipe system is understood, which is combined in the Venturi Siamese connection in the front muffler head. In our experience, the diameter of the exhaust pipes from the engine to the muffler and length have a considerable bearing on the quietness obtained". I hope this additional information will be useful to you. CWB. CWB [Watermark: 1804 MADE AT CROXLEY] | ||
