TO.................... DATE.................... -2- which this "lead" response curve was made are in anticipation of the new provisional specification which may be shortly issued by the Air Ministry and, therefore, the Octane numbers quoted are more in accordance with future developments. While one cannot accurately predict without test, the Octane numbers of such a fuel plus lead, when taken at a lower jacket temperature, one would say from experience of this fuel that the lowering of the jacket temperature from 150°C to 100°C would show a general rise of about 2 Octane numbers on each point. We would not advise that the latter estimation be entirely depended upon. If there is any further information we can give you, please advise us.
