Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/ML. 89, BUCKINGHAM AVENUE, TRADING ESTATE, SLOUGH. BUCKS. 21st March, 1941. W.A.Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd. D E R B Y. Dear Robotham, Thank you for yours of the 18th, and I am afraid I cannot trace that anything has been done to answer your query, but I am arranging for John Heron, and Warrington accompanied by Mr. Robinson, to come up to see you on a suitable date. Heron will be writing you asking for an appointment when I think that all the problems can be discussed. I have gone a long way, I believe, in solving the price question for after the war, and I think we shall be able to give you very interesting prices to cover both aluminium and magnesium alloys. When you are in this district I would like to show you what we have done. I have just been down to Cardiff in one of your latest cars, which Mr. Cowen sent out to me, and I was thoroughly delighted with the ride. The car is incomparably better than my Lagonda in every particular - steering, riding qualities, acceleration, and particularly in braking - this is excellent. I have ordered one of the cars, and Mr. Cowen tells me that after the body work is finished, (which may be some little time yet,) and it is ready to send to me, he is going to send it up to you to look over it, for which I shall be greatly obliged. Yours sincerely, W.C.Devereux. | ||
