We send herewith N.sch. 2816 shewing a suggestion for obviating the difficulty of the pins connecting the two driven plates of the servo seizing up. The suggestion is a plate transmitting the drive in such a way that movement on the bush occurs when there is no load, and when the load becomes great the plate can bend. We are not certain of the exact thickness of the plate, and we should like Derby, if they consider the idea worth trying, to measure the load required to deflect the plate a given amount - we suggest of the order of 10 thous. - and also to measure the actual compression of the ferodo which produces the max. load.

We think this should not be difficult to do.
