x6119 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA. April 25th., 1933. Messrs. North & Sons Ltd., Whippendell Road, Watford. Dear Sirs, In reply to yours of the 22nd., inst, reference HPB/MMW. we have received the four levers and tested the same. The loading on the contact points is still too low however and we confirm having explained to your Mr. Glen that we require a loading of .9 to 1.2 lbs. at the contact point with the lever in its set up position. The loading requirements on drawing DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}/8 should therefore be interpreted as above and the spring made to suit. It would be possible to use the same spring gauge if the spring was given a greater initial set. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
