This might be accompanied by fixing a thermometer in a position about the centre of the bonnet and underneath it. Mr. Royce does not admire the device for preventing the over filling of the steam separating radiators, and from his remarks I gathered he would rather it was left off. He wishes us to make some experiments with the steam separating radiator, with a view to finding out the level to which the radiator should be filled, so that none should be blown out when boiling occurs. To do this he suggested we should start off with a radiator almost full and after the radiator has been running some time the level should be noted.
