Pivot Changeover for Bentley.

With regard to this job, the present position is that we have fitted the strengthened pivots to a car and found that they will go together satisfactorily. We are therefore issuing a Standardisation Sheet immediately. In the meantime we are subjecting them to an intensive fatigue test to get a value for their life compared with the standard pivot. It is necessary to make a special test like this because we have never broken the old pivot in any of our ordinary endurance running such as the bumper test.

We are compiling a Depot Sheet so that the axle control can be dealt with at the same time as the pivots.

We are also issuing a Standardisation Sheet for increasing all front shock absorber loads to 105 lbs.

The fourth job which we hope can be dealt with at the same time as the pivots is fixing of a more effective water excluder to the axle. We have not completed our tests as yet but during the next 2 or 3 days should be ready to make a final recommendation.
