re G/7/II (Cont)

ly to this novelty. I had difficulty with a protector band which was a little short andprevented the valve getting into its proper position. I think this was the cause of the blow off which I experienced. The valve had sheared at two points, the end had wedged between spokes and brake drum and a small piece remained in the rim hole although detached from the tube. The tube had split completeley in halves, the locking ring had disappeared and the tire was well out of the rim. This happened at a speed close to 50 MPH but caused no swaying. The road at this point was quite/good.

The chassis seems to fill all requirements although, unless I failed to get the best out of it it does not seem to me quite speedy enough for this country. I passed everything on the road except a 15 HP Chénard which was the only car to overtake me during the ten days run. The engine, with the exception of the dynamo hum or hiss is exceedingly silent but the body was so noisy that one could not appreciate this quality to the full.
