In this case also the thermometer gave no indication that there was something wrong. The flooding of the water caused shorts which attracted my attention. The thermometer no longer being in the water stream would necessarily have a tendency to go down in temperature while the engine temperature was going up.

The dynamo(which had been repaired)caused a distinct hiss.

I had slight oil leakage apparently from valve cover.

I would suggest that it would be well to have a radiator shutter operated from the dash to keep temperature up in cold weather as the engine seems to run better at 75° than when it is colder.

The dynamo seems to get very hot.

The switch operating the lights is in such a position that it is easy to turn it on accidentally. I would suggest that the locking device on this switch should be so arranged that it can be locked with the side and tail lamps alight in case it is desired to leave the car unattended on the roadside after dark.

For France the filler pipe to tank should be on the right side. I had difficulty occasionally when the pumps had short pipes.

I would call attention to the fact that as the engine can be kept running while tank is being filled there is a danger of fire from petrol over-flowing onto the exhaust pipe.

BODY:- This is very noisy, the front seats are difficult to move making access to rear seats and to driving seat rather awkward. The division in the windscreen is just in the line of vision. The upper half should be smaller as the lower pane kept very much cleaner in rain than the upper - indeed it was the only part of the windscreen one could see through.

I was surprised to find that the front mudguards which look as if they should be efficient did not prevent large volumes of water from coming right over sometimes to the very top of the windscreen when striking puddles. The driving seat is very comfortable although a little near the door. An elbow rest should be provided.

WHEELS;- The mechanics do not seem to take very kind-
