Manchester. 21st May, 1930. -3- (h) We agree to your making three paragraphs (18) (19) and (20) of our present (18), though in the new (20) where you say "by connecting a suitable resistance in series with the battery" this does not seem quite consistent with the fact of having already described these resistances in some detail in (18). It would appear to us to be more suitable to say :- "Limit the current to a value not exceeding 7 amperes by varying the lamps or other resistances in series with the battery (Fig.2)" As regards the remainder of (20) we agree with your alterations.
