Y5410 By from Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} c.to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c.to OC/Dn. Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}1/NJ11.5.25. 20 HP. Chassis - India. Front Springs. Referring to the 6 front springs each for 650 lbs load which Messrs.Thos.Firth & Sons Ltd. supplied to us in execution of our order No.38072 of 31.12.24 and which springs were similar to the standard 650 lbs front springs which they have regularly supplied to us for our 20 HP. chassis, but modified in the manner suggested by Mr.Stansfield in his note of 23rd Dec.1924 to Mr.Mark Firth. You will remember that the springs were tested out on our bumping rig and the average life was found to be approximately 15 hours, which was the same as the average life of the ordinary standard spring. Five of the springs were returned to Firths for their examination and we are now in receipt of a letter from Firths asking whether it will be convenient for Mr.Mark Firth and Mr.Stansfield to visit us at Derby on Wednesday next, 13th inst., in which case they propose to come by the train which arrives at Derby at 10.36 a.m. If you will kindly let me know whether this will be convenient to you, I will write and confirm the arrangement.
