To GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}7/MJ.5.5.30.

We are most interested in your reports on over-heating.

We cannot quite understand how, in one of your Daily Reports, you say that the car ran at 90°C and atmospheric temperature of 23°C, whereas in your Daily Report 30.4.30 you say that the radiator ran at 80°C with an atmospheric temperature of 25°C.

Since you have reported no modification between these two tests we cannot quite understand how the efficiency of the radiator has improved so much. Possibly in the latter test you were running with the bonnet shutters open but you do not say so.

We are very concerned about you camshaft and are investigating to see if we can find out the cause of it as the 2% nickel should be definitely better than standard.

When you have chance we should like you to do the test on steering selectivity carrying masses each side of the front dumb irons, because we are building a Sports Phantom ll at present and want to know whether spare wheels at the side will improve steering selectivity!

Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}
