Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PY Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} 247 25/30-HP CHASSIS. At present Starting Handle Cover E.84742 is produced as a Staybrite Pressing and costs 10d per stamping, plus machining - total cost 3/3d, as per memo RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/CH.1/IB.8.12.36. This detail has been re-designed on similar lines to EW.571 - Piece No. E.61278, and we have obtained a quotation for this, produced as a Hot Brass Pressing, of 1½d each plus £3.10.0d for Dies, plus Plating & Machining Approx. total 1/- each. The Staybrite forgings for "O2" and "P2" Series have already been made and delivered, i.e., 525 = £21.13.4d. Apparently it would pay us to scrap these and replace by Dixtampo Pressings. Please say if you are in agreement. Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
