We send herewith N.sch.2592 shewing modifications to the rear end of SS.{S. Smith} chassis already sent you on N.sch. 2556/7/8/9 and 2572.

The wheel carrier and grid have been considerably modified, but the petrol tank and frame have not been materially changed.

The side filler is slightly more nearly vertical, and the vent pipe to the K.S. gauge has been deleted, as we understand this is not considered necessary.

Although there is no central torque arm to the wheel carrier, we wish to retain the depression in the top of the tank as originally drawn, to accommodate the pipes.
We may need a torque arm on the wheel and box at the rear, which we propose as an alternative to this scheme.
We believe this completes the information you need for the rear end of 'SS{S. Smith}'.
