Dear Sirs,

We quote in full below a report J.D.33. made by the undersigned's assistant Mr. C. Johnson, which requires no covering explanation.

We shall be pleased, at your convenience, to have your remarks on the points mentioned.

We recall that on one or two previous occasions we have considered it desirable to mention that there appears to be some lack of thoroughness in your works in the detail completion and greasing up of some of the batteries with which you have supplied us.

"I have been over the P & R RRN.11 batteries which we have in the Experimental Dept. and find they are minus the ebonite collars over the terminal posts. These are fitted on most of the batteries on the four main terminals, but are not filled with petroleum jelly as they should be.

This omission is helping to cause some corrosion on the terminals of the new batteries which we have on cars.

Will you please order 48 ebonite collars from Messrs. Peto & Radford and also ask them how they are fitted. I believe they are hotted up in some way and forced over the post then being allowed to cool and shrink which makes them a good fit. It should be pointed out to P & R that great care must be taken in future to ensure that these are fitted on every terminal post and also filled with petroleum jelly. I also suggest that
