304 D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} 8th July 1938. Dear Alan, After you had given me so much of your valuable time on Wednesday, needless to say, I at once got busy and have been so ever since. The result is after taking very careful measurements at home - Garage 17 ft. 2 ins. (absolute limit touching each end) Rolls 17 ft. 7 ins. - Packard 19 ft. 2 ins. (if bumpers reduced 6 ins. each end 18 ft. 2 ins.) The above figures speak for themselves so that it looks rather awful unless one can knock down all walls - extend garage, and reduce yard space a certain amount. - Naturally, what one does is to go to one's adviser, guide, - philosopher, - and friend, - and if one finds him in a good mood and willing to waste a few more minutes upon his unworthy slave possibly he might be able to make some suggestions. It would appear that after the conversation the other morning and his most valuable advice that the only thing was to pull down add brickwork etc., extend doors, reduce yard space and admit the R.R. Possibly, he may have a less expensive and at the same time better plan that would get over all these difficulties and give the same result. Needless to say, the present engine, extraordinary acceleration, horse power, consumption etc., etc., tempts one to go on, but looking at the mature years of the first-class idiot in question (who wasted your time) and looking at the matter from | ||
