Sr/VA5/ET.4.2.36 - 3 - Prior to dismantling the axle, it was fairly noisy between 40 and 70 K.p.h., on the driving side. After the repairs which we effected, there was only a slight period at 70 K.p.h. on the driving side. We hope the gears will remain put.? After effecting the above modifications and repairs, the car was found to be O.K. on test. The car was very good on acceleration and reached a maximum speed of 155. K.p.h. There were no signs of overoiling or pinking. This car is fitted with a light torpedo body. As the above car has, as indicated above, covered 52.522 Kms., we think the above, especially the report about the bearings, will be of interest to you. We should mention that this owner is a good driver, but drives his car hard and fast. Please let us know if you wish us to send you the original intermediate bearings and the GB.I442 thrust bearing for examination. Sr/VA. | ||
