GRY{Shadwell Grylls} - Do other people have to do this Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} B.V. B.50. GEARBOX. Herewith is PD.373 which shews the gear actuating forks fitted with axial roller bearing. The forks are unaltered, but a new guide shaft of larger diameter, new retaining ring and felt, and larger holes in the gearbox bosses are required. As the bosses in the gearbox casting are now rather thin, the scheme is only intended to try the axial roller bearings and the stiffer guide shaft, and is not suitable for production. The forks, guide shaft and circlips are to be sent to The Ribbesford Co. Ltd., of Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa, to enable the bearings to be assembled and tested before despatch to us.
