DE NORMANVILLE OVERDRIVE.
We have extracted some confidential information from Humbers about this gearbox.
Their transmission engineer says that in its final form it is a reliable mechanism having a very pleasant operation.
It is essential however, he says, to observe the following points:-
(1) The separate oil feed for the hydraulic piston is necessary to prevent dirt on the valve seat.
(2) The valve seat material must be what they finally used and is now in De N's sample box.
(3) The clutch linings must be the brand of 'Halo' now in the box.
(4) The prop shaft joints should go up one size.
