PER BAG. Y541 Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager}(Cricklewood). From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}2/MJ.14.8.36. 20/25 SERVO JUDDERS. We know of one or two cases in this department and on customers' cars in which servo judders have been cured by removing the washer which adjusts the separation of the servo star springs. The object of this washer is, as you know, to prevent excessive pedal movement in operating the servo. We have an idea that the star springs collapse after about 10,000 miles and possibly take up most of the 040 original clearance. Could you let us know by telephone tonight whether you have ever, or even frequently, removed this washer to cure judders. We are contemplating leaving it out on production but do not wish to do so if the number of complaints of judders is very small. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.Grylls. | ||
