Coverley - Production Engineer} re Bensport Exhaust Cutout. We send you herewith LeC.3484 showing some modifications to enable the cutout body to be detached from the pipe without disturbing the expansion boxes. To do this two of the studs have been slightly pocketed in the cutout elbow. We have also altered the end of the valve stem, making the retainer for the ball joint a screwed in plug, and checked by knocking the metal of the valve stem into the two slots, and the material of the valve stem altered to 3½% Nickel Steel. This has been done because it was found in the last one that we made the high quality valve steel was difficult to pean over. We call for the actuating lever to be chromium plated, and we think this, with the black bakelite knobs should look smart. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
