To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4260 Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}6/M4/1/23. Goshawk II Frames & Fittings, Dumb Irons & Shackles. -------------------------------------------------- With reference to your BY1/P3/1/23, I quite agree that what you suggest is the right thing. We must, of course, soften every one of these pieces on every car. It is particularly unfortunate that it has occurred because what with axle troubles etc. we are getting practically no output. However, things cannot be avoided I suppose, and we must do the best to get out of our difficulties. It is also to be regretted that there was no standard-isation sheet for this change. It again emphasises how near we are to falling over the cliff, and I do hope that no job will be put on the chassis without a standardisation sheet.
