To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}E. BY.Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} Bentley Brake Judders. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}15/E30.6.36 I am in receipt of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}19/KW.29.6.36 and am very pleased to note what you say in the second paragraph. I am very anxious, as you know, that we should have something available which we can fit to existing cars in cases where we get a complaint - in fact we may even have to go further and fit it to all existing cars. What I am anxious to know is how much testing it is felt this device needs before we apply it to customers' cars. As experience always shows that tests of anything on one car only are inadequate, ought we not to fit up some other cars as quickly as possible with this device so as to get more experience?
