of the car, we can appreciate the difference between a car that has too too stiff springs and one which was the correct springs. We know from our Repair Dept. records that the majority of R.R. cars which come in have the springs too stiff.

We have experimental covered cars which are fitted with heavy bodies and we find that the correct weight of rear springs for these cars is 1900 to 2000 lbs. Yet on some of our cars delivered to customers, we have fitted 2500 to 2600 lb.springs. We cannot imagine any body that would demand that weight of springs.
