TO BY.{R.W. FRONT AXLE. X4263 Thank you for your By2/P71122. We do not think we can be said to have misread your By12/H271022., since you say nothing at all in that memo. about the way in which the track is to be increased. We understand however from your last letter that you wish to lengthen the pivot. We have discussed the matter with Mr. Royce and he prefers to use the internal square on the adjusting screw as is standard on the 40/50. It is true that it is a more difficult piece to make and will require a special spanner with the head turned over, but we do not think that it is very much worse than the 40/50 in this respect. Another suggestion is that we might have a large screwdriver slot and a special screwdriver also with a turned over head should be used. It might be desirable to try the advantages of both and choose the one found most convenient. The pivots might be lengthened a small amount say .050 a side if a little additional room is required. Mr. Royce does not like increasing the track. N scheme 1353 enclosed herewith. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} [STAMPED: RECEIVED NOV 17 1922] | ||
