W. Robotham Esq. 15th September, 1938. I see no reason at all why we should bother you or H.D.A. or anybody else with any conferences at all. I personally would much sooner you left it to me, let us get a little more equipment together - you know the difficulty about getting machinery and men and so on, - we have decided on a policy that in future we send no more bearings out that we cannot cast to the proper sizes, cast in the new form of moulds which we have evolved, which gets over the question of porosity, (this has, incidentally, caused us to scrap the whole of the moulds we made after the first experiments), and then you and H.D.A. absolutely and religiously refer any enquiries or complaints to us and leave us to deal with them, we to call on either of you people if and when we want them. I feel sure that six months of this policy will see this bearing fully established and these people like Dennis will come running in for service and help when we have established it, as I feel sure we shall if this policy is adhered to. I propose to 'phone up H.D.A. and tell them that the meeting is off for next Tuesday, in view of this correspondence, and I am sending them a copy of this letter to you. [The words 'to you' are struck through] Apologising for the length of it, but I feel strongly that all these points should be cleared up, Believe me, Yours sincerely, John Horlen | ||
