X.4342.R To E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T28.6.21. X.4342-R ROTAX MT1L STARTER MOTOR FOR "GOSHAWK II". We shall be glad to know if you have been able to obtain a decision from Mr. Royce as to whether we shall, in spite of the decision during our visit, obtain a Rotax MT1L starter motor for the Goshawk. Please see my EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 4/T7.6.21, to which we are awaiting an answer. If we pass over this Rotax motor we are only left with two, namely, Smith and C.A.V., and one of these viz., Smiths, has been definitely stated by the makers themselves on one or two occasions to be unsuitable for the work. This leaves only the C.A.V. motor. As Mr. Hives expects to have the Goshawk Engine ready in a fortnight's time, we are urging particularly the C.A.V. motor. EFC. {E.
