y/b 1280 Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Ed. {J. L. Edwards} 3/GH.25.1.40. 25th January 1940. Messrs. John Marston Ltd., Wolverhampton. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. DUNN. ------------------------------ Due to war conditions we have been compelled to modify our experimental programme to a considerable extent. We are now anxious therefore, to produce another Wraith 80 radiator and we suggest that you modify one of the Silver Dawn radiators already in your possession to the details of this new radiator. This modification, we believe consists principally of altering the matrix block, and top and bottom tanks, all the other parts being as before. We suggest, therefore, that you make up a new inner unit of top and bottom tanks and matrix and fit this to the Silver Dawn yoke. The original internals can remain without alteration and we shall be able to treat them as spare. An official order for this modification is being sent through the Order Office and will following in the course of a day or so. We should also like to remind you of the heat transmission and performance curves promised by Mr. Waring to Mr. Edwards on his recent visit to your works, and also the Bentley V cost analysis which was requested at the same time. Yours faithfully, CHASSIS - DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER. | ||
