1286 File Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Ed. {J. L. Edwards} 4/CH.25.1.40. 25th January 1940. Messrs. Morris Motors Ltd., Radiator Division, Oxford. Dear Sirs, FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE EXPERIMENTAL DEPT. ------------------------------------ We have been in communication with our Aero Division at Hucknall and they inform us that they have recently developed a new type of fin and tube radiator matrix which is giving extremely satis- factory results. This appears to consist principally of a number of tubes set immediately behind one another in a finned block with 8 gills per inch. We are anxious to try this matrix on our Bentley motor car and we enclose herewith drawings PD.164/5 which should give you sufficient information to enable you to construct a Bentley V inner unit of top tank, bottom tank and matrix. It will probably be an advantage if, before commencing the job, your representative called on our Mr. Edwards when all aspects of the job could be thoroughly discussed and any doubtful points cleared up. We suggest therefore that you write us and fix some convenient time for a visit. Yours faithfully, DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER - CHASSIS. ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
