3. BJ9/H28.10.25 (Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}) no but if it shows/sign of giving trouble, nothing should be done to it. When we have found a definite cure, we should consider whether all cars at present delivered should not be dealt with to prevent over-oiling in the future. About 300 Phantom chassis have been delivered from Derby to Sales. Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} pointed out that our oil gauge did not prevent customers from greatly over-filling their engines, as they were satisfied if the gauge showed that the engine was full, but there was no over-flow pipe to show when it was over full. For instance, he recently had a Phantom returned to him in which he found three gallons too much oil. It would be useful if an overflow cock could be fitted on both the 40/50 and 20 HP. as it is impossible to depend on the many untelligent drivers, who consider that all is well as long as they know there is plenty of oil in the engine.
