BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M20.8.27. C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PHANTOM COMBINED SPARE WHEEL CARRIER & LUGGAGE GRID AT REAR. X8600 X8400 In view of the statement of the Co's policy which you have recently given us (BY8/H15827.) it appears to be necessary to persist with the experiments in connection with carrying the wheel off one tube only. We send herewith N. sch. 2441. shewing how we suggest the experiment should be arranged the next time. It will be seen that we have strengthened the lugs, but otherwise the arrangement is as originally instructed. With reference to the broken pieces we do not understand why they were not brazed to the tube as the original pieces were brazed. Evidently it would have very much strengthened them had this been done. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
