After this short period, however, the engine is the softest I, personally, have ever driven, in fact at the light cruising speeds around 30 M.P.H. it is almost impossible to feel that there is an engine in the chassis at all, and at the highest speeds attainable, it is excellent.

STEERING. X.3516. We are not satisfied yet that we have got the best position of pivot lean and shall report in detail later about this to Mr. Royce. We can go so far at present however, as to say that the steering promises to be quite good. We have not been able to as yet to make it wobble under any condition, while road shocks are never felt. One feels that the steering wheel would be improved if made slightly larger in diameter with a narrower grip.

GENERAL IMPRESSION. It is felt by all who have tried it that here is the making of an excellent car and of a size which is likely to become popular, and that it contains the possibility of all the best Rolls-Royce features, such as - picking up softly from walking pace on top with a rapid acceleration to 60 M.P.H. having to change down only on the steepest hills and it certainly leads one to hope that Goshawk II will maintain these features.
