TUNGSTEN IGNITION CONTACT POINTS.

In our EFC2/T24.11.27 we remarked that we had put up apparatus of our own as nearly like the Remy as we know, combining at one and the same time the four features different from standard, viz.,
(1) No distributor.
(2) Scrubbing action.
(3) Off-set lever.
(4) Quicker break cam.

A 10,000 mile bench test of this combination is now completed and we are sending you the contact screw point which has run on this test.

We think this is quite the best result we have had on the RR. apparatus, because there is no suggestion of the bluing action of oxidation of the metal such as there has invariably been on the screw point previously. (Not necessarily on the lever point).

Our further experiments in this direction will be on the lines outlined in our previous report, the combination of three items first being tried being 1, 2 and 4, i.e. with the one item of the off-set lever dropped out. This will be started in due course but in the meanwhile we are running 1+2 combination of scrubbing action with no distributor.
