Swindell} 1245 Levallois Sr/VA5/GM.2.II.37 Pelee Re: CHASSIS B.8.GA ------------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swd l3/MH.{M. Huckerby}28.10.37. The main bearings which we fairly recently fitted to the engine of this car were the A.C.2. type and the big end bearings were in A.C.7 material. We, as per our memo Sr/WHA2I/Vf.14.9.37 sent to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} called for a set of .030" u/s main bearings in A.C.2. material, we also called for 6 connecting rods complete with big ends in A.C.2. material. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} replied to the above memo vis Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SBI6/ HR.17.9.37 saying that they would send us a set of A.C.2. .030" u/s main bearings as soon as possible, but we were informed that the connecting rod big ends would be in A.C.7. material. The parts were sent to us in case n°. B/E.II89 ( 18.9.37). Previous to recently fitting the A.C.2. type main bearings, we fitted a set of Hall's metal main bearings on the 20.8.36 at a mileage of 20.740 Kms. As per our memo Sr/VA3/ET.7.6.37 sent to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, we gave full particulars of all work which we had carried out up to the 7th. June 1937, and indicated the type of bearings fitted etc... Sr/VA. JA | ||
