We have carried out a bench test on the first motor made up to the above scheme and attached please find curves shewing the performance of this motor in comparison with the 20/25 motor now being fitted to the Bensport chassis. These curves shew that this new motor gives a very much better performance than the 20/25 in fact the B.H.P. is over 50% better and the stalling torque approximately 30%. On the whole the results are very gratifying and should enable us to effect a satisfactory start on the Bensport engine under the worst conditions. We are arranging to take a Bensport to a freezing chamber in order to try starting from cold with several degrees of frost. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/st.{Capt. P. R. Strong} | ||
