X6070 To Sr. (Paris Showrooms) Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/AD8.11.32. LOCKING OF SWITCHBOX Replying to your Sr/Dnl{Mr Dunwel}6/ET3.11.32, naturally we do not recommend the use of the starter motor for moving the chassis about and we are strongly in favour of the switchbox when locked in the off position protecting not only the ignition and lighting circuits but also the horn, accessory and starter circuits. This was suggested in a report we issued to R.{Sir Henry Royce} reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.5/AD22.3.32 in which we stated :- "We commend for consideration an R.R. switchbox where the whole of the electrical circuits can be controlled, the first position of the switch being the operation of a master switch, the other positions being lamps and the ignition and starter circuits controlled by the key". This is common practice on a number of high class cars particularly of Continental manufacture where Bosch electrical equipment is fitted. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
