Dear Sir,

In reply to your letter of the 24th I was surprised to note that you have found that the cutout setting actually rises above the regulator value, because according to our figures the highest cutout setting even under your extreme conditions should not have been above about 15 volts, while the regulator value would not come below about 16.5, leaving a substantial margin.

However, I am having the matter very carefully investigated and will write you further in the course of a day or so, but there should not be any necessity for adding temperature compensation to the cutout. So far we have no evidence whatever from service or from any other source to indicate that there is any need for this.
