C.A.V. Regulators. Type DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}880.

As you are aware, we are continually rejecting regulators because they fail to come within the low limit of the specification which you have issued, and this subject has been discussed between Messrs. Lucas and ourselves on several occasions.

Apparently the C.A.V Specification is not the same as ours consequently the only regulators which we can pass are those which are of the high limits to the C.A.V. specification, which regulators then comply with the low limits of the R.R. Specification, and under these circumstances there are bound to be many rejections.

Will you please say if you are prepared to give some concessions on the existing specification by adjusting the number of series turns.

We think it would be desirable to go part way in meeting the C.A.V.-Bosch specification because we still have a number of these regulators to take, and even when the type becomes obsolete there are a large number of cars on the road which might require replacements from time to time.

Of the 41 regulators recently returned, 31 are alleged to be perfectly correct to the setting and specification worked to by the C.A.V. - Bosch.

Will you please give us an early decision on these, so that we may have this question of rejections settled.
