QUOTE WEP/FF. Your Ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.6/AD.

16th December, 1931.

Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We are in receipt of your letter of December 14th and note that you are interested in a moulding material for self lubricating bearings.

We presume from your last paragraph that you have carried out some preliminary tests on this subject and that you have found the standard type of material unsatisfactory. We are therefore putting in hand some samples of a special material, mouldings from which shall have self lubricating properties and which also shall have a higher heat conductivity than is usual in standard Bakelite Moulding Materials.

One of our technical representatives will call with this sample at your Works on Friday afternoon next, if this is convenient to you, as we feel that a discussion on this matter would probably be of advantage to you.

Yours faithfully,
For BAKELITE LIMITED.
