45410. Pt.7/EAP/7-3-29 MELBOURNE. - 7th March, 1929 BY/Derby c.Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/Derby c.Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Derby ✓ c.Wmr/London Further to mine - Pt.4/EAP/30-1-29 - I have lately had occasion to go into the cost of top leaves for rear springs of 20 h.p. cars, two of these being requisitioned for New Zealand, and I find that the All British Motor selling price here for these is £5:17:0 each. This price is arrived at by the following method :- English Retail Price ... £3:16: 0 Less 15% discount Plus 10% Landing charges Plus 40% Duty this duty being calculated upon English price, less 10%, plus 10%, which is the basis for Australian calculations. To the resulting figure is added the amount of the discount previously deducted at the rate of 15%, and this returns the very high figure of £5:17:0. I think you will agree that this is a terrific price to ask for a main leaf. I shall be very glad if you can see your way to lowering the cost of such parts as these to Overseas Agents. Pt. | ||
