Dear Sirs,
With reference to your letter of the 7th.inst., regarding the woven cotton servo linings, our Works inform us that they cannot improve upon the material at present being supplied without vastly altering its characteristics in other respects.
The difficulty you are experiencing can be quite readily overcome by adopting the suggestion made by our Mr. Dalmaine, i.e., by using a smaller taper headed rivet and putting only a very slight taper countersink into the fabric and pulling down into a slight spherical depression formed in the back plate.
