Huckerby}12.9.36, reporting on the above car, which was complained of by Mr Pass chiefly for clutch "judder" and rattle in the drive. We have now received a communication from Mr Pass, copy of which we attach, (dated 24.9.36). We should say Mr Pass' comments on the clutch rather confirm our opinion of it when it last left the Works. It did represent the best we could do, however, without indefinite delay, having had our best attention, including that of the Experimental Department. As a matter of fact, it was the latest type clutch supplied by the Experimental Department, and finally checked and tested by them as the best that could be done in at the time. It rather confirms that some urgent improvement is necessary in this direction, as we feel sure we shall have to tackle this car again sooner or later. ep{G.
