The tappets are of hardened steel and are not controlled by a separate spring.

The camshaft is made of cast iron and is not machined all over and has three large diameter bearings. The front bearing is 2.000" dia. x 1.200" long, centre bearing 1.950" dia. x .950" long and the rear bearing 1.500" dia. x .950" long.

The camshaft base circle is 1.225" dia., cam lift .325", and width of cams .400".

Overall length of camshaft is 23.050".

The oil pump and the distributor are driven from the camshaft through separate spiral gears and the petrol pump is also driven by an eccentric on the camshaft.

The camshaft is not bored out.
